Fireworks guidelines for firing and fireworks safety

If fireworks — are legal where you live
here are guidelines for you for set-up
and fireworks safety.

Always have adult supervision anytime you do fireworks.

Make sure you have enough room to do fireworks.
Recommended is 6+ yards for sparklers, wheels, and small fountains, and 26+ yards for anything else.

Make sure the fireworks are going away from the spectators.

Never give a child under 5 a sparkler to hold. Teach children not to wave them around, and to watch out for other children

From back to front, you should have a
fallout zone
fireworks zone
safety zone
and a spectator zone.

Always have a hose handy, in case of fire. And keep a bucket of water and a bucket of sand to put sparklers
and other items in.

Make sure the fuses are not taped to the body of the fireworks. Do this in the daytime, when you can see.

Use a long gas lighter or a small propane torch to light the fireworks. Never use a cigarette or cigarette lighter!

Don't attempt to relight any fireworks that are "duds": those that have failed to perform.

Always wear clothing that covers you when lighting fireworks, and wear safety glasses or goggles.
